Fiddle Practice

For a while I wasn't learning how to play violin very well because whenever it was time to practice I didn't want to. I didn't really like practicing, because (1) it's boring, (2) I have better things to do, and (3) actually I guess there isn't any three. Practice would take ages and ages and ages because I wasn't really focusing on actually practicing, and instead focusing on complaining on how boring it was.

So for a while I wasn't doing too well during lessons because I hadn't practiced very well. It was turning into a pretty big problem, since because I wasn't practicing very well I couldn't learn new songs on the violin very quickly.

Then my dad told me that it would go much much much faster and it would only take a couple minutes if I just played the thingy and did the stuff I was supposed to do during practice. And it worked!

Now practice goes a lot better, though I still think it's kind of boring.

Me practicing with my little sister. The cat was not being very helpful. Actually she was being the opposite of helpful. But she was being very cute and fluffy.

A couple weeks ago I went to NEFFA, which is a folk festival. That's literally what the two "F"s in "NEFFA" stand for. I go there every year and it's really fun. But most of the time I can't play music with other people there because I'm not very good at the songs. But now, since I'm practicing better, I'm learning a lot quicker, so unlike last year, this year I did quite a bit of playing music with people. And I could play a whole lot more songs than I could when practice wasn't going well.
